Think I'll try that trick as well. I ordered a new fuel sending unit,
float, filter and lock ring for my '65 as the gauge reads empty when
the ground wire is disconnected and reads full when connected. No in
between. If the sending unit can clean up - perhaps I can return the
new one. If not - well - parts on hand is good!
