It might be not very well known because no one likes them! By all accounts it's 3-speed, non-synchro first, and behind Ford small engines. Not a surprise it's unpopular (why just look at all the T-96 fans out there). The reason I thought it likely that it was a T_96 is that is definitely has the same bearing retainer OD (4.25) and the top two bolts same as AMC T-96. THe lower two do not form a square or rectangle with the top two, one's offset. Of course there could also be T-96 and some old wierd Ford thing.
