OK that's it. The adapter has a protrusion to fit into the bell where the bearing retainer goes -- the critical part -- and the tech at Mustang Depot measured 4.24". Center to center across the top two bolts about 6.25; he had a 6" caliper. The lower two holes are not symmetrical. Those are the "problem" holes but I think I can guesstimate the dimensions of the plate to ensure that there's room for the holes I'd need. Adapter thickness is 1.323. That might be a problem, but since it's flat on the trans side, it could be milled to the right thickness. I assume it works, the Falcon is small too so maybe it puts some lump in a better place.
