I've had good success with black molasses. I buy it in a 5-gallon bucket at an animal feed place (I think I pay around $18 for it), and reduce it by as much as 9:1 with water. It takes a week or so to completely clean up a really rusty part, but does an excellent job - attacks rust, nothing else, doesn't hurt aluminum. It works best when it's in the 70-degree range or warmer, just slower at lower temps. Completely natural, it's easy to dispose of. I believe it's based on the same science as the comercially available RustBeeter, but is waaay cheaper. Dan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
