" Hi Eddie, I Have A Friend That Is Looking For A Clutch Disc For His 73
" Javelin 304 3 Speed Transmission. The Spline Is 1", The Ones He Has
" Found Are 1.25" Splines. The original AMC Part Number Is 3231483 &
" According To The AMC Parts Book It Fits A Gremlin v8, Hornet v8, &
" Javelin 3 Speed. He Would Appreciate Help In Locating This Part.

my perfection cat says he wants 10" disc rcf446 and b&b pp ca1864 or
equiv. diaphragm pp ca1897 also fits. the pp may actually be 10"
parts which will work in the smaller '64-'71 199/232/258 bell -
they're listed as fitting '70-4 - but many brands sub 10.5" parts;
there's plenty of room in the v8 bell. i've learned the hard way that
a 10.5" b&b will not turn inside the early bell.
this disc should work on a 196 with mopar pp ca1576. this was std
with 273s and hd with 225s right up through the '80s and bolts to the
9 1/8" pattern with 5/16" bolts. good for your turbo proj, tom? the
above pp use the 10.5" pattern with 3/8" bolts, which the later sixes
are drilled for but the 196 isn't - though by all accounts you could
simply use an early 199/232/258 'wheel...
i don't know of any 1.25" spline discs in cars. usual are 1.125" and
1.0625". mopar commonly used a 1" fine spline, even with hemis, and a
1.1875" with some big blocks.
