3. The auto trans in both is the same assuming both are six cylinder cars.4. The total cost for the Scarebird conversion is around $400, including the cost of the kit. You just get a nice bracket and machined seal adapter from Scarebird, the rest you get from the local auto parts store, everything is right off the shelf. Rotors are early 90s Ford Ranger, calipers are late model GM. They give you a complete list with part numbers from 2-3 different manufacturers. Just keep the list in the car in case you have trouble on the road and need to replace something. You can continue to use your original master cylinder, just remove the residual pressure valve from the front outlet and check the fluid once a year.

By the way, I have an auto trans and not a manual. I have an auto trans in my 63 classic parts car too. I'd always assumed they were the same, but maybe I should look and see if I should change that out?? (doubtful, but hey) The website for the brakes: http://www.scarebird.com/ I must be missing something here. They have the 1964-70 AMC Javelin, AMX, Rambler, American setup for $185?? What will I need (parts wise) that doesn't come with that? Is that just for one wheel? I was under the impression that the complete kit would be closer to $1,000 or so. -- Frank SwygertPublisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC)
