Jim is referring specifically to the AMC V-8s, which have a different balance weight on the flexplate dependent on engine size (externally balanced). Doesn't apply to the sixes, which are internally balanced. So you're just fine!!

Just to be clear - are we saying that if flex plates are "engine
specific" - that the 4.0 flex plate I have on the back end of my 258
in front of the 32RH trans (aka TF 999) shouldn't work? 'Cause it
seems to be working pretty well.
And yes - I know the 32RH is a lockup trans whereas "most" TF999's
aren't and I am using the appropriate lockup converter.
