My 64 classic has a 1 bbl carb with the original cast intake. I'm in the middle of replacing it with an '80 Spirit 2 bbl aluminum intake. (Same one I asked about a week or two ago off of ebay) 1. Does it matter what end the coolant flows into and out of the manifold at? (I can't imagine why, but thought I'd ask just in case) 2. I think somebody (maybe Tom J.)said that I could not use the electric heater under the intake manifold cause my alternator couldn't handle it. Am I wrong, or did somebody say that? 3. I'm expecting slightly better gas mileage and a little more horsepower, (think I read about 10 more HP) but will I even notice the difference in either? One might say that I should of asked number 3 BEFORE I bought this, but it really doesn't matter, I'd of done it anyways. LoL. Mainly cause I wanted to learn how and I like to tinker. BTW, I successfully replaced my points ignition with the Duraspark system and WOW, it starts MUCH easier than before. Now I gotta see how it does during the winter.
