That would be correct. Only a few 343 Americans were sold in 1967 as the factory was concerned about body stress with the bigger engine. That was probably from lightly modified 343s, but people were taking them out and drag racing after a week or tow of breaking in. After that it was only the 290 on 2V or high compression 4V form. So what about the 390 powered SC/Ramblers? Those coupe bodies have all the heavier convertible bracing in them. The inner rockers and the rear seat back brace are heavier. I'm sure some other components are stronger, but those are the only two I know of for certain.

You could get a factory equipped Rogue in 67 with the 343. Was it 290 only (in V8's) in 68 and 69 with the ScRamblers having the 390? Is this right?
