Doug: trust me my friend--it will be MUCH MUCH easier/cheaper for you to simply have a driveshaft made than it would be for you to go through all the gyrations of trying to set the engine back. A good driveline shop can probably do up a driveshaft for less than $150 or so. My reason for considering moving the engine back in my 1973 Matador is that I am switching to the AW4 transmission which is shorter than the A904 formerly in the car and I was looking to not have my driveshaft lengthened.
