To the beszt of my research there has never been an official AMC definition for "SC" or "SST". All the possibilities are really speculation. If someone has a document from AMC headquarters or a zone office (not a dealership) please let me know! "Sport Coupe" or the race class are generally accepted as the "definitions" for SC, and "Super Sport Touring" or named after the airplane (Super Sonic Transport, by the way) are generally accepted for SST. But as I said, there has never been any official word out of AMC. Won't be now, of course! ------------- Date: Fri, 15 May 2009 17:28:41 GMT From: "Mr. AMC" <amc74hornet@xxxxxxxxx> A new member to my AMC model group is trying to learn about Ramblers/AMC's and brought up a question. What does the SC stand for in SC/Rambler. Also what does it stand for in relation to the SC360 Hornet? One last one what does SST stand for? These are questions that have never crossed my mind. Any help would be appreciated. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
