Re: [AMC-list] 1969 AMX Air Conditioner

Now Tom, let's not scare this guy into believing he may be biting off more
than he can chew........ROFL......

In my opinion, he's going to have to remove the entire dash to get that
airbox back up in there too..........
I've looked and looked and looked at this project, and I just don't see a
way to get the non A/C box out and
the new A/C box in without dash removal.

Oh yeah I just remembered too, I hope he's got the dash controls for the A/C
and the wiring harness for the A/C

on to other things...........

On the white 70 Javelin, the plan now is to get all this stuff ready this
year and pull the dash next fall and
do the swap.

here's the list of things to do..........(gawd I love these dreams, hope I
actually get it all done this summer)

accumulate all the new hoses needed
purchase a new condenser with "O" ring style connections
purchase a new sanden compressor and adapter to fit the York mounting
bracket.
purchase a new A/C dryer or rebuild existing
flush and clean evaporator after changing connections to "O" ring style
purchase the correct drive belts for the change over
change over to include install of 1976 style power steering pump and three
belt pulley system from 70 360 with A/C
Fabricate a carbon fiber dash overlay with the Javelin logo and stripe so
that when the dash comes out the factory overlay
can be replaced with carbon fiber.
Oh and the last thing to do is to re-install the crash pad on the dash
further over to the passenger side so the glove box door opens.
