[AMC-list] Moldy Oldie - cure for the Killah - con't

"Hmmmm - would drilling holes in the wallboard help dry them out? Then
patch them afterwards? Not sure how you'd get air flowing back there,
but it might work." ~b.griffis

-.-

Oh yeah - did this at college chum's restaurant after a pin holed
cold water pipe running over the brand New Sheet Rock Bar Ceiling
unloaded ... overnight...... ceiling began major sagging.

couldn't reach the pinhole since it was under a wall - so snaked
the arm in & AMC heater box hose clamped & rubber inner tube slice wrap around the pipe stopped the leak.. 5 years and counting now.

I cut a section of Plywood large enough so the push upward
wouldn't punch thru the drenched sheet rock - cut a Broom Handle the measured length from Bar Top to Plywood Ceiling push panel - press fitted the Ceiling Droop
back into place.

I had opened up a section of floor anyway so put a Box Fan in front with
a fabricated shroud of cardboard & duct tape.

Box Fan pulled fresh air thru the ceiling space all night & two
days:
Repair Complete.
