Aramand Ok - I'm still nix on the heat blanket. solid urethane.. hmm......... Run in the Heat Gun with the wide diffuser & Lo blower speed - at a distance that just Warms your Hand Skin as you want to Warm as deep into the urethane as possible to begin with without messing up the surface texture - just WARM now .. This warm core theory will enable better compacting when you press with the plywood. Get that plywood shaped so it matches where you want the pad to recede - knock off any sharp edges that might show up as impressions in the warmed urethane surface & shape the plywood if it needs contour using a disc sander or rasps. Practice a few pressure presses so you know the drill & get the impression pressure going in square. That's what I would do - your Cat might tell you different...... Mine always Do !
