It's no more protected than an add on epage or any other classified.
The good thing is people tend to dump the stuff on craigslist for reasonable prices, it's still a crap shoot!
some areas have crap coverage and interest in Craigslist :(
My boy sold some old Lacrosse gear easy through it, I have had zero luck in moving some nice older pieces of furniture I do not want to ship.

How does craigslist work??
Are transactions conducted under the implied honesty of the vendor?
How does craigslist protect a buyer from being conned by fraudulent
sellers??
