well, i made it TO the big show in boise. started smoking pretty bad once i got there. jim shadwick and i decided i must have broken a ring. checked the plugs and they were all dry and looked normal. was smoking at idle, and also under throttle. so was just babying it around what little i could keep it to. i was almost halfway home, and the ticking started getting real loud, and then all of a sudden it sounded like a rod was trying to come apart. on the freeway doing about 60 or so, and shut her down QUICK. was able to coast it up to a wide spot and get behind a gaurd rail. pretty safe spot. was able to call my grandfather and get him to pick my wife and i up, and run us the 60 miles to my house. i had to unload my drag car off the trailer, hook it up, and went and rescued casper. i NEVER trailer my car. i HATED having to trailer it home. i have always been able to "gloat" about how that car has never left me anywhere, but now, i dont have that no more. bummer. now, its time to drop that front suspension cross member, pull the oil pan, and see whats going on. MAN, the problems just wont end. i guess all the years of driving and never having a problem, and trying to take care of it and do all the regular preventative maintenance only postponed all the old car issues. just abouttime for it to start having some major issues.
