Glad to hear all is going well! The addition of shoulder belts should not be to big a deal. Just plan it out, you should be able to do as Frank did, bolts through the pillay with as large a washer as possible. Or you could do the weld in plates or have them done. I'm about to redo the ones in my 69. The passenger side latch on it is work out and won't stay latched, bad... I bought a nice set of gray shoulder belts with an extra feature. They have a latch that allows them to be released from the upper pivot point. This will get the belt out of the way for easy in-out access of the rear seat in my 2door. The belts I bought are made by Bendix corp and have all the federal statement tags in place. I found them on evilbay and liked the extra release point. I have to place a retractor mount at the front edge of the back seat. Got that all planned out to. When I am done, I'll have brand new easy to use modern shoulder belts! Yay! I applaud AMC for adopting seatbelts and staying at the forefront of safety, but those old three piece belts are one PIA! My youngest son can not get up without help yet, so I help him hit the bathroom, walk the hallway or get to the shower. In a few weeks he should be able to do that just fine, but for now he needs help and I'm happy to be there (one of the perks of working from home!). My wife has muscular dystrophy, and can not help him get up or walk. So before heading off for a spin, I need to make sure one of my other sons is home - or my sister-in-law is awake and listening. My two other sons were out, but my sister-in-law was here, so off I went for a short run! I'm happy with the car, and think I'll just do 3 point lapbelts and headrests when my youngest is able to go for cruises again. Heck - I was longingly looking at the Apache camper. I need to pop it open, check out the bed ends, cehck out the canvas - and see if we can do a '65 Rambler, '66 Apache Eagle roadtrip (in 3 or 4 months). _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
