Thanks to everyone on their input on the balancing question I asked. I'm going to have to dig out the receipts and call the shop that did the engine. It was rebuilt when I bought it, I called the shop shortly after to find out some specs on it if they had the information, which they did. The engine sits on the engine stand, full of oil, pumped periodically. Turned over periodically by hand, but never run. I suppose I could find all the stuff and change over the Spirit to a manual, but would like to keep the auto for those trips down the strip. At least by calling the shop maybe I can get enough info to follow up or take the parts to them and get it all checked out. I've rebuilt several engines, never with new pistons or machine work. The one in the Javelin is still running great after rebuilding it in '85. This is new to me building an engine "right" and just want to have it run the best it can. When talking to the machine shop about the engine, they informed me it should be around 450 horse at the flywheel. Also, what's the easiest way to tell which transmission is which (TF), and how can I tell the difference between a AMC 15 & 20? Again, thanks for all the info.
