In my dealership days, and I worked the entire way through the 80's at AMC, Rhino, Jeep dealers as a tech, I can only recall seeing 2 non Jeep powered AMC 4's! ONe was a beige/tan Eagle, IIRC, it was a sedan, but that information seems to be corrupted as I just can't be sure of it being a sedan! The second was an Eagle premier, that was interesting as there was a bunch of open room under the hood with the 4cyl in the Premier. Neither one of those was exactly well powered cars! Driveable, but pching the envelope for not being able to pull gamma off a P!$$pot. as we used to say in our youth! I'm still keeping my eyes peeled for an AMC 4cyl to build for a future hotrod project... Like to build a Lotus 7, locost, if I live long enough to get to it. But all the 4 cyl info and specs are listed in my product book for 84. The 85 eagle only had the 6. Some early production of Premiers had the 4cyl as well, till they realized it was too underpowered. Plus? MOPAR had to buy enough of the engines from Renault to meet their contracts anyway.? Not sure exactly?when in 88 they did drop the 4 cyl from the AMC, uh Renault, Uh Eagle Premier. Sure, it only made it into Jeeps (and the mythical four cylinder Eagle Premier) plus the base Dodge Dakota 1996-2002, but it's a GEN-U-WINE AMC engine and should fit at least as well as some of the other suggestions.? ? --Glen? ? _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
