Have you replaced the battery cables? Is the engine to body ground there and in good condition? The voltage regulator doesn't have anything to do with starting the car. Matt On 3/9/2009 7:42 PM, Bill Yourick spouted this sage advice: > My 68 AMX starts from cold great. Runs like a champ - man I love this car! But when I stop, turn off the engine it won't restart. Slow or no turn over like a bad battery. Smells a little hot but not too bad. I've checked the radiator, battery is good and on a slow charger at all times, even added a heat shield blanket for the starter. The voltage regulator is new and very hot but I'm thinking it from trying to start the engine. After it cools down and with the battery cables off for the cool down period I reconnect and it starts like new. > > Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. > -------------- next part -------------- > An HTML attachment was scrubbed... > URL: http://splatter.wps.com/pipermail/amc-list/attachments/20090309/526e7aa1/attachment.htm > _______________________________________________ > Amc-list mailing list > Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx > http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list > > > -- mhaas@xxxxxxx Cincinnati, OH http://www.mattsoldcars.com 1967 Rambler American wagon 1968 Rambler American sedan ================================================================= According to a February 2003 survey of Internet holdouts released by UCLA's Center for Communication Policy, people cite not having a computer as the No. 1 reason they won't go online. _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
