You just have to watch for the different shock mount plates and upper brackets between -77 and 78+ when the rubber isolaters ("isoclamp") were/n't used. Might be OK but I put a 2.56 from a Concord under a 73 Gremlin just to keep it off the ground and the u bolts didn't quite line up. OK for now and could be better if using the matching shock mount plates. I think the pads themselves are different also. Just a small hole on the earlier and a large slot for the rubber pad and brackets on the later.
