I had one package (tailgate for a Grand Wagoneer) that was delivered to NJ and when the driver found out where it was going, he threw it on the ground and drove over it (tire tracks on the box confirmed it) and skewered it with a forklift (busting the glass inside and puncturing the gate) then sent it back. Driver here in Seattle was so embarrassed to return the package that he tried to drop it on the lawn and drive away (I caught him before he got away)
   I took it to the main shipping center along with the pics I took (there was a tag on the package stating packing wasn't strong enough) and the people there that I deal with all the time were incensed at what happened and filed as witnesses to my packaging it properly.
  Turned out the driver in NJ had delivered a bust of Leonardo Da Vinci (done by the master himself) for restoration and rather than pull into their lot and use a handtruck, he DRAGGED it across the street and left the $1.5 million statue on the side of the street, causing a further $50,000 worth of damage in the process. 
   Surprisingly they didn't fire him (probably due to his relation to Luigi, Vinnie and the Dons) and I guess he figured he'd get his revenge for them reporting him. Another time a crated 727 with torque converter I shipped to Texas was crushed but the trans survived (only to be killed by the TH400 pilot sleeve in the back of the motor that had killed the previous 727 as well)

Heck i've had TERRIBLE luck with UPS. They either lose items or smash the heck out of them and they NEVER pay ins claims!! I avoid having anything shipped to my via UPS like the plague at all costs..unless the seller will ONLY use them. Then i hold my breath and hope for the best!! They are higher $$$ than anyone else AND treat packages HORRIBLY!! Just my opinion....Joe
