OK, I'm an idiot. Bought some 195.6 headgaskets off'n ePay, without noticing (ahem) they were for the flathead. (d'oh.) Cheap though, and McCords, NOS. Eh. So I had a momentary thought, boy no one cares about that motor! It's what, 88hp rated, vs. 138 for the OHV? But wouldn't a turbo on one be fun?! Clearly heat and compression in L-heads is a terrible limitation, but the Furd and inliner fans have done this sort of thing for years... there's certainly a lot of room under the hood! Just a wild thought... basically I'm talking about building a motor to go with a $10 headgasket.
