I'm trying to stave off the same issue. We have given our 98 to our oldest son starting next summer. It needs and exhaust, a paint job and a front bumper cover. He was looking at a Flowmaster at Advance auto today, I'm quickly told him, NO, you don't want that on a 4cyl! He at least admits he does not want the typical ricer soup can muffler and does not want it too loud! I figure a stock diameter Dynomax or similar will work out with the cat converter helping to quiet it down. The only perf mods we plan are a header, front pipe and probably a fresh cat. Then an open air filter for the "cool" sucky noise thing. It's his first car, so I know I will not get away with telling him to leave the 10 year old 150,000miles car alone. Just trying to get him to not dump a bunch of cash into it or make it undriveable or sound like a piece of crap! -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.7L, Quadratrac II " I realize that death is inevitable. I just don't want to be around when it happens!
