If it's anything like the trough you made for the American, it's gonna be very nice! At the other end of the skill range... for the very first time, my banging on metal improved it. The little American's rear valance and the lower trunk part of the body had a crap repair, a dent bondoed, then dented again, with chips of 1/8" thick bondo the size of a quarter all over. Dropped the bumper, chipped it all off, bumped out the metal "close enough", got all the rust, and paint, off it all, down to bare metal, then two coats of Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. "Close enough" means visible, shallow dents, a faint ripple, but defnitely flat enough to sand, and with all that crap gone, will last forever or until it gets professionally painted. Which could be not on my watch, to be honest. Ten times nicer looking anyways. Cleaned all the rust and old trunk seal, more Rust Encap, new trunk seal. Fixed all the trunk water leaks (we'll see). > Anyway after i took a pill and it took effect I got a good bit done. I hope to have the corner pretty well finished tomorrow! > I don't know if I will make it as far as getting the trought done before my 4 day weekend is up, but just getting somewhere is good! Is it a complete front tower repair like the American? > For now it will get a 287, a 4bbl carb, the factory trans and a single exhast dumping in front of the rear tires. That shoudl be sweet! I was thinking a shorty exhaust on the American too... I ordered a Summit turbo muffler, 2" in and out. _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
