Pre 63 AMC bodies have continuous rails from front to back -- no point in subframe connectors as they are already tied directly together. There is an extension that runs under the front seats which could be extended to join the rear rails where they curve back in, but it's not necessary and won't help resist twisting much. An additional cross member or two might held there, but the pre 63 bodies are actually much stiffer than later ones.

was under casper (62 classic custom 2 door) a week or so and noticed it is rusting out underneath. where the front subframe ties into the floor pans is gettin pretty rough. most likely from the oklahoma humidity/winter salt on the roads. didnt drive it much in the winter, but if it even THREATENS to freeze, they were salting the roads. what a bunch of panzies. hopefully this winter i can get casper into the body shop (my garage) this winter and get the body cancer and that underbody rust fixed. by the way, speaking of subframes, would it benifit any for me to make some for that body car? as mark (i think it was) said, he can jack up any corner and doors still shut fine, mine is the same way, so no worries there. but there is a 304/t5 in the works for it. not a lot of torque, but i dont want to be poppin windshields, or misaligning doors either. not for hotrodding, just for some streetable "fun".
