I've always supported the loacal recyclers as best I can.
My theory is to give them EVERYTHING.
I see so often people cull out their aluminum cause it is "worth money".
Well, that is as it is, but I figure the recyclers need the aluminum to allow them to make enough money to deal with that worthless crap!
  So, recycle it ALL to the recycler.
Locally ours is one of the state and local funded non-profits. The workers are typically "challenged" indidviduals too.
  Let them have the money, my wife started to save cans once. She saved up 4-5 trash bags, searched out a drop off point, got them weighed and recieved her money, less than $20, she was done, she went back to letting me have my way.
