Re: [Amc-list] 67 Ambassador convertible is finally in the pain shop!

If they did anyways near the reinforcement to the 67's they did to the 65's, the subframe connectors will do very little!
They actually did subframe connectors on the 65!
If you look at the inside of the rockers there is a second box in between it and the floor pan.It runs the entire lnegth of the rocker.
I have both a conv and a hardtop and the floors from the rusty hardtop can be used in the rusty convertible because I can could cut them from the hardtop, trim them and still have metal left to weld them in!
There is also significant bracing in the corners of the body to tie it all together.

I'd have to see the 67 know if they backed off in it's build, but a 65 would only gain weight from subframe connectors. Mine is rusty in the floor pans and cowl corners, all the extra bracing and rockers are solid as the day it was built.
It can be jacked up on any corner and the doors open and close fine. That's the first thing I checked as I did not want to build a flexible flyer.
