Seconded!
Those long skinny 196 rods will punch a hole right thru the block!
Been there, done that!
Seen other examples!
For some reason a 196 seems to exert more torque in that last moment of life then at any other time!

Don't drive it!
ask the friend if he has another engine for you to use if/when it blows. If it is a chevy small block, run...
