Only new to you! I saw that many eons ago. IIRC, some of the carb kids came with ground straps too. The first time you run into it you wonder WTF they were thinking as the carb is gasketed and the only ground path is thru the studs, nuts and washers, then thru the intakes, also studs, nuts and washers! The inkage carbs would have that as a path, but how many electric carbed applications had linkage other then trans kickdowns? Best path is to neatly ground it to either the battery or a battery ground point or the firewall ground. Does your Spirit have the under carb heat porcupine? It may not have a ground either. Good reminder for this time of year to 80's carb people! -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.7L, Quadratrac II " I realize that death is inevitable.
