Re: [Amc-list] compression ratio

The timing chain set with 3 keys and double roller was cheaper than the OEM style one last I checked.

i have 2 385 series motors. one is a '77 351M, and the other is a '76 400. the 77 truck motor was retarded 6* for emissions. the car was retarded 8* or more. it wasnt the cam. i didnt specifiy correctly. it was the crank gear and cam gears. their dots were "retarded". now we know why fords are "retarded" hehe. my 400 has a 0* timing set in it. WOW what a difference it makes. i got to get a 0* kit for the truck and it should be a lot better. i wish i woulda knowed that before i replaced the cam so i could get new timing kit for it. it was all new, so i just reused it. if only i woulda known then what i know now. DOH (does the homer head smack) o well.

hmm, wonder if a guy could just jump the cam gear ahead you know, a link or 2 on the timing chain???? or would that be BAD JU-JU???
