www.coilsprings.com has the specs for all factory springs. They make a new set of progressive rate springs that are equivalent to the old "straight rate" ones, only they ride and handle MUCH better. They can make them a percentage stiffer than the factory also. I'd go 10% stiffer just because the 60s cars are usually a bit soft, but by 66 they were a little stiffer than earlier. Progressives are fairly soft at first but stiffen as they compress, much better than the old ones! I've used these guys before and was obviously well satisfied. Price is the same for all... I think under $200, but with shipping may be a bit more. Check the website! If they need the specs for some reason they are in the 66 TSM. If you don't have one tell me what engine/trans your car has and if it has AC or not and I'll send the specs. ----------- Date: Thu, 16 Oct 2008 10:43:53 -0400 From: Wayne E LaMothe <superglider@xxxxxxxx> Anyone have a source for rear coil springs for my 66 Ambassador wagon? ESPO no longer has them. I guess the alternative to is install an air bag in them. I know I did that back in the day for my 65 Ambo wagon but not sure they even make those anymore. I see that Kantner can have them made in 4-6 weeks but $210 is a little steep for my budget. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
