Now it's even more strange after your comments Joe, the green Javelin has a black naugahyde upholstery in it. It has plain center panels, which aren't the same design center panels as the white Javelin has. Both cars are SST. White has a Dec 1969 build date. Green one has a July 1970 build date. I believe the green one has it's original interior from the condition it's in. I know the white one has about 95% of it's original interior. The center panel in the driver seat and one side panel have been replaced. The headliner has also been replaced. ?????????? Possibly on the SST cars, but I don't think corduroy was available in base Javelins anyway. I had a 70 SST with black cord interior and it had them. Sold it to a guy in Iowa and he probably still has it in his storage trailer. > > Joe Fulton > > --- On Tue, 10/7/08, Armand Eshleman <aje1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > From: Armand Eshleman <aje1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > > Subject: [Amc-list] Javelin/AMX rear seat arm rests > > To: "AMC/Rambler owners, drivers and fans." <amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx> > > Date: Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 5:56 PM > > The green Javelin has them !! > > I keep forgetting to mention this. > > It just hit me again tonight, that I should ask about them. > > > > I have not seen this before in a Javelin or AMX. > > > > One of my friends, (whose Javelin is tore apart and in > > boxes) says he > > thought his car had them. > > Again, granted I have not seen hundreds of Javelins, just a > > few, over the > > years, and I've never noticed that > > any of them beyond the green one had rear seat arm rests > > with ashtrays in > > them. > > Unfortunately the green car is short one of the ashtrays. > > The arm rests mounted to the car body with a couple of clip > > in place > > brackets that go into square holes in the > > inner panel of the sides under the quarter windows.
