excellent candidate. it has the right bolt pattern but the retainer's
too large. you can either mill out the bell opening or switch to a gm
or [i think] 4-cyl ford t5 retainer.
the input is the right length but different spline etc than the amc
t5, but it is the same as the late -'70s t150 3sp so that's what you
want to ask for on pilot bushing or clutch disk. you could of course
also use a ford disk in most situations. throwout bearing might
depend on which retainer you end up using.
btw the t150 is a ford toploader; you can swap a 4sp toploader
straight in.
many amc balls from the late '70s on are multipattern; if they were
used with a t150 or t176/7/8 they already have the larger retainer
hole, and the meat, if not already drilled/tapped holes, for the t5.
