That stuff isn't hard to work around. It's the fuel opening being in the wrong place. A hole saw will make any of the other openings needed work, but the fill hole is more temperamental. I wonder if it comes with a new rubber insert for the filler? I think mine weeps a bit as I smell raw gas around the back of the car. (and it's not an updraft!)
