similar anecdotes:  my uncle, in a highrise, is fine; my cousin,
almost within sight of his apartment, took some damage; nothing
serious but no power.  a friend some distance nw has sat tv, phone,
and internet [dsl] but no power; his job has relaxed their dress
code...
