I spent a couple of hours last night cutting up some 2X4" steel I scrounged from a center divder out of a fire rated door last night. I have enough pieces cut to make an Eastwood style foot operated stretcher/shrinker stand! I need to cut some smaller stuff I have for the lever/pedals and make a top plate. Tonight I hope to get the edges trued up some and everything cleaned up for welding. Maybe get started on welding it up. For the life of me I don't see how they can justify charging $399 for these things! Without the stretcher tools! My other weld up project is to build a stand alone pedestal stand for the throatless shear. I want to mount it down lower than most bench heights are. I need it at a low enough point i can work it without putting my arm above shoulder height. Speaking fo which, yeah it is hurting osme today, but only a point or too worse than doing nothing! I figure if it's going to bug me anyway, maybe I'll give it a reason!!! If I can find a camera I'll put some pics up in a day or so. Anyone have any ideas on an easy bushing to use in the foot pedal levers? That's my only real sticking point right now. I know I can come up with something, but if anyone has a tried solution I'm all ears.
