If it is a 1981 4-cylinder it should be an Iron Duke.  It's kindy wimpy at 90 or so flywheel horsepower.  If the car was manufactured for sale in CA it will have the feedback version of the Rochester Carb.  If not sold in CA it will have the nonfeedback version, I think.  It's a pretty stout engine with a gear driven camshaft (no timing chain) so timing should stay rock solid even on a high mileage engine.  Pontiac made a super duty version of this engine used in some circle track racing classes but the bottom end of the engine was beefed up greatly in that version.
