I'm almost done removing the undercoating from the engine compartment of the '73 Matador. It looked so nasty. My guess is that just to prove that they sprayed some on, they sprayed some all over the engine compartment where it could be seen by the auto owner but where it did absolutely no good. I didn't use anything exotic like dry ice. Instead, I just used a spray bottle filled with paint thinner and worked away at it with a rag, a toothbrush, and a putty knife. Where it was thin, it almost washed right off with the first pass but where it was really thick, it took some work. I think I have 4 hours or so into the whole engine bay. I'll probably need a couple more hours before it's done.
