Jim, Those are some good questions. I bought a set of those copper header gaskets too and I've been pondering the same thing. My guess is to put the raised edge against the head so that the ridge in the header can go into the trough of the gasket. Wouldn't the gasket distort too much if installed the opposite way? Anyone else have thoughts on this??
