Oh, yeah, I forgot how ugly those open chamber heads are in the casting dept! Shame you did not try that closed chame head as with no quench it may not have hurt anything at all anyway. Could have made it worse though I guess... Maybe next time! Back from a few days at the lake with the new boat... Least they could do with a 260hp chebbie V8 is make ti rumble!!! it's boring... Runs good though as it is the mutliport efi engine and is actually not hard an fuel at all! Just like a car, the V8 working easy is not any harder on fuel than a V-6 that is overworked! Boat guy said th ebiggest misstake boaters make is buying the little engine as it os often overworked, plus most all v-6's still get carbs and the efi option while pricey at $2K ends up being worthwhile. I guess the guy who boat this one, an 05' Rinker, ordered it as the engine was a $4300 option and the ski platform on the rear was another $1100. He traded it on a $50k Malibu... Geez rich people... The Rinker cost about $30 k new ane he kept it 3 years and traded on one that cots $50k+. Must be nice, foolish, maybe... I'm hoping, One it does not sink. two my wife stays happy with it for a long time -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.7L, Quadratrc II " Chronic Pain Hurts" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> > As I mentioned I just rebuilt the head on my 1970 232ci, the open > chamber head.
