Oh, I know what you mean about saving them all. Marc, as much as I would love to jump in and drive it, I already have 6 running, driving AMC/FSJ's and 9 non-running projects. All of the cars are the small bodied, 79-80 AMX's and Eaglets. (2 79 AMX's, 1 80, 3 SX4's and 2 Kammbacks). WHile I can appreciate the Ambo's. unless it was a really cool 2 door or Station Wagon, I can't justify the storms it would brew at home to bring home a car I didn't really love as I would have to displace something else I really like. If it were a 2 door or wagon, I would drive it exactly as it is and deal with the familial issues. This car was on it's way to being crushed or demo derby'd if I did not buy it... can you imagine watching a perfect Ambo front end, including grille, smashing into a Country Squire Station Wagon, and then having the perfect doors smashed on either side by a 73 Monte Carlo and a Montego... the HORROR! So, I really wanted the almuinum radiator, Motor and 727. I am hoping somebody else wants the rest of the car for the glass, lights, sheetmetal, grille, bumper... or someone who's really good at bodywork can repair the trunk floors and rear quarters, put in their own drivetrain and put it back on the road. Also has clear title! Now that is better than all of it getting smashed at a demo derby! The only things missing are the emblems, seats and carpet. The door panels and dash pad are excellent (green), though a hole has been cut in the face of the dash for a DIN stereo. Hope somone can use this stuff, have a great weekend, Jesse Message: 14 Date: Wed, 23 Jul 2008 17:25:45 +0000 From: Wrambler242@xxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [Amc-list] Just crush the 73 Ambo? IIRC, gurtted interior. One funky racing bucket. Hacked hood and trunklid. Otherwise fairly complete and driveable. be nice if he can get the needed parts off of it, but as is, it sounded like a good to part car unless someone was willing to take on a redo and lived close by. I believe he offered it up to takers if someone wanted to buy it whole, not sure on that! I know he offered the complete body should someone need it. -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.7L, Quadratrc II " Chronic Pain Hurts" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: "Jeff Reeves" <amcnut@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Marc: > I believe his first post stated that the interior had already been gutted by the > previous owner who had intended to make a race or derby car of it and either > lost interest or got in a tight and sold the car to Jesse.
