[Amc-list] cid calculations?

i forgot the formula to calculate displacement. just wondering what cid would be for the 196 bored .080. 

stopped at machine shop in town today to get an estimate. good guy, and does great work. about 500-600 for everything. boring, decking the block and head, install new pistons on the rods, cam bearings, verify rods are strait, machine down the crank, hot tank and magnaflux the block. and a couple more things im missing. it appears i have gotten 4 pistons loose. 2 to go. fingers are still crossed that things will be OK...

how much can i shave off of the head and be ok still? i was thinking about going .020-.040. i dont want it to get to high to run on premium fuel, but would like a little better compression. looking for a core camshaft also. would like to send it in to have it reground. kinda thinking i want to make this car as rodded out as possible on a budget. i think i will just stick a nice smooth y pipe in the exhaust and stick some side pipes on it.
