The only danger is finding out which end the Ranger actually got! As near as my readings can point the 91-92 Ranger got the car ends! The exploder got the truck ends. It's hard to tell cause after 93 the widths are so close anyone who wants the disc just buys an exploder rear! I've only read hints of swaps to the Ranger axle. I've got another 13-15 hour day today. Hopefully I'll feel like trying to look for the Ranger rear again by Thursday. -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.7L, Quadratrc II " Chronic Pain Hurts" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Sandwich Maker) > " From: Wrambler242@xxxxxxxxxxx > " > " I know the feeling, I keep looking at the later model Mustang stuff > " for rear discs to go on the Ranger 8.8, which I don't have yet. > > warning, will robinson! danger! > > i read something somewhere [the fms catalog?] that car and truck 8.8s > have different housing ends. this could be something like the old 9" > small-bearing/big-bearing thing. if true -- > the bad news: mustang rear disks wouldn't bolt on > the good news: exploder disks would > or maybe you could use exploder brackets with mustang calipers and > rotors. > > the fms torsen diff is pricy [though not bad for a torsen], but would > be real tempting if you were building for performance... > ________________________________________________________________________ > Andrew Hay the genius nature > internet rambler is to see what all have seen > adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and think what none thought > _______________________________________________ > Amc-list mailing list > Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx > http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
