That would be a big yes, none of the additives have been shown to do much of anything except drain yer wallet and clog O2 sensors on newer engines! I have run old and new cars for many years on the fill up the tank when it is empty and change the oil every 5K. [checking fluids, filters along the way of course] I've not ever had any early valve failures etc; except for a mid eighties chebbie 4.3L V6 in a boat! Those things had the softest block known to man, well except for the Vega engine! By early valve failures I mean needing a valve job before 75K or so on the old engines. New engines? Well our 98 Altimas Odometer stopped in January at 139,500 and it still runs a 5k oil change with a full oilpan and no useage or smoke. At least I think it's a 5K oil change as I'm just guessing now! Anyone know if an OBD II scanner will show odometer reading on a 98 Altima? Be nice to have means to check it. -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.7L, Quadratrc II " Chronic Pain Hurts" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: "Armand Eshleman" <aje1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Are the lead substitute manufacturers then just pulling our legs?? > > Armand _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
