Thinking dissturbing thoughts. Can you sneak the engine forward an inch or so and the rear back? The wheelwells on the back of a lot of the early 60's cars actually look like the wheels are too far forward anyway. I don't know if that would upset the steering angle though. Still if you could keep it to 2" in the rear. What about having the output shortened on the T trans? How far up is it splined? most any shop that does rear axles can even respline it to make it shorter. For shifting the engine forward you could maybe use a 65 American waterpump and electric fan. If you needed to go back [preferable] you could use a 65-66 Ambassador crossmember! bummer. -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.7L, Quadratrc II " Chronic Pain Hurts" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> > Seeing how the BW 35 is the weak link in my wagon, and I'm on a manual > trans kick, I rummaged through my notes and my iron pile and determined > that I have absolutely everything I need to bolt in (really) a T-14 onto > a torque tube car -- except two items. > > One item is obvious -- open-yoke transmission and torque tube flange. > This is not a big deal; I can easily weld up a bracket and flange to > position the torque tube flange against the crossmember.
