Every stock V8 AMC I have ever had always got around 20MPG on the road. I have had 250s to 360s in 59 Rebels to 78 Pacers. Once on the road with just normal highway driving I got a best of 24 with a 304-2v Matty. I had a 79 304 AMX 4-spd that I played around with too much to take an accurate reading so I'm leaving that one out as my foot was in it too much. V8s don't always equal poor gas mileage, though with today's of FI mini cars 20 mpg ain't too good. Still, with a 304 Concorde, fer example, getting 20 mpg and costing about a grand for a nice one, and a new puddle jumper getting 30 MPG and costing 20 grand, well....... Its hard to justify going into debt, paying sky high insurance and worrying about a warranty just to get 10 MPG more. I'll keep my American getting 26, easy to insure, easy to work on, and dependable as all get out......Russ _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
