Re: [Amc-list] Mobilgas Economy Runs

I realized yesterday after doing a run that we know the exact mileage of the trip that my fancy autometer speedo is a little off.
I'd checked it last year and it seemed to read about 2-3 mph fast compared to roadside radar units they set up in construction zones.
now Sunday I made a direct run on a trip we have checked over and over again in every vehicle over the years and it always comes out to 52 miles. Well, the odometer in the American reported 48! So the speedo needle runs high and the odometer runs low! B.S.... Anyway computing the difference my previous tank moves up to a little better than 23 mpg. Not bad for a soon to be 40 year old brick running 75mph and being driven pretty hard on the back roads at times...
I'm going to be contacting Autometer about having it recalibrated this winter.
It's only showing 600 miles on the odometer, should be a little better matched speedo to odometer if you ask me.
