Like Wayne said the FC150 would fall on it's nose! They added weight to keep it from doing so when the bed was empty! Not highway friendly at all! You could probably "fix" a FC 170 and get to handle highway speeds, but it would take some doing. It geared way to steep and handles, well, like a cabover.... The FC150's were intended as work vehicles, could be fitted with posthole diggers and other oddities when equipped with the right transfer case. I don't know all the specifics, but there are few web sites that can fill in the holes in my story. -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.7L, Quadratrc II " Chronic Pain Hurts" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> > On Tue, 20 May 2008, Wrambler242@xxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > > > Guy I worked with had a 170 and one with a VAN body!!! > > Don't know what he ever did with them, but way old school tech on those! > > I kinda like them, very cute-ugly. > > They always looked like they'd just fall on their faces if you > hit the brakes too hard. > > _______________________________________________ > Amc-list mailing list > Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx > http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
