I only meant inexpensive production cars, and didn't mean to extrapolate out (much) from AMC and modern imports. But every modern import I've driven out performs any ANC I've ever driven. Road race prepped AMC would do great -- but that's what it would take. It's been 30 years... tastes and technology changed. I'm not interested in the new stuff, but it's a fact the engines are cleaner, more HP/volume, and handle like 60's race cars. > Drive a well prepared open wheel open cockpit rear drive Formula Ford some > time..... I'm not sure logic plays into it. Lots of rules in racing are arbitrary. Where brute HP matters FWD has the major problem of sharing tire grip patch with HP and turning. In 24 Hrs of LeMons, FWD has the severe disadvantage that one good whack by fellow rank amateurs takes out half-axles! But for a $500 car FWD is great! > Much better than the front drive set up is a mid engine rear drive car. Just > like and F-1 racing car. That's the ultimate!! Oh man I regret not going into debt to buy that Hallibrand rear from the #50 car!! Crap, that Rambler six would bolt right to it -- problem solved!! _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
